I was Guest Speaker on “Youth, Skills and Security: Connections, Costs & Opportunities” for the Ogun State Government @ogsg_official Youth Day Program at the Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, Nigeria earlier this week.
:
Ogun State Young Folks are some of the most courageous, assertive, engaged and smart youth I’ve ever met. They asked very brilliant questions and put their Governor to the Task that day. They were very informed about Government Policies and made useful suggestions around Youth Employment, Political Stability and Infrastructural Development in the State.
I was both gobsmacked & impressed at the excellent Listening and Note Taking Skills of His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun @dapoabiodunmfr of Ogun State (In blue on my right).
:
In his Speech to the Ogun Youth, he made reference to the Content of my Presentation 9 Times highlighting and assuring the Audience that he’d noted my Suggestions and Ideas on consolidating on the Agricultural Revolution in the State to create more Jobs for young people, building a nexus between the Education System, the Labour Market and the Public Sector Agencies, the inclusion of more young people in Government, the introduction of emerging Tech like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning into the Academic Curriculum of Ogun State etc.
He also sat through the entire Event from Start to Finish and answered so many “tough” questions asked directly from the Youth.
:
I attended Secondary School in Ogun State and won the Best Student Prize in the State in 2000. In 2008, I returned to Ogun for my one Year Mandatory NYSC service to the Nation so it was real good homecoming for me.
