I read several comments about our #VSFCovid19Intervention to IDPs in the last week.
Ogun State next, then South East and South-South.

We @victimssupportfund didn’t forget the Citizens in any part of Nigeria as we’re a non- discriminatory, non- partisan, religion neutral institution. We’ll do our best to reach every region of the Country with our #VSFCovid19Intervention.

Beginning with Lagos, The Food & Non-Food Items Distribution Strategy for our #VSFCovid19Intervention has now changed.

Governments won’t have them all. We’ll be handing over only 50% of our items procured to State Government to share while we’ll select credible NGOs in local communities to distribute the other 50% of the Rice, Beans, Garri, Salt & Vegetable Oil.

In Lagos, we chose @mamamoni_nigeria, @kokunfoundation @lagosfoodbank Cee Hope Nigeria, Payback Community Foundation, @rethinkingcities initiative, Gabasawa Women’s Group & others.

For Lagos State Government, Mr. Gbolahan Lawal, the Commissioner for Agriculture received all the Food Items from our Delegation.

Of our N1Billion Budget, Lagos State being a Frontline COVID-19 State got 20% of it all.

We want this to be a very transparent process.
People must know how we spent the N1Billion Fund across all the 7 States that this preliminary intervention covers.

We will hand over Rice, Beans, Garri, Vegetable Oil, Salt to our NGO Partners who will distribute the Food Items to the needy & vulnerable people across communities while documenting the process in Video & Photos so please hold them accountable as you do same to us too?

The NGOs will receive daily allowances from VSF for Logistics for transporting the Food from our Warehouses to their Community Offices & for movement within their communities for the Food Distribution for 3days.

They’re entitled to 2 Volunteers whom we will pay too & a VSF Volunteer will supervise.

We will also give them Food Distribution Cards that anyone who receives our Food must fill & return. We will then track, verify & report back to the Public.
