I’m down with a Fever and I’ve been slow for days now. Fellow Nigerians, Meet Bassey Okon.
The 19year Old Honest, Kind and Thoroughly Professional Porter I encountered in my Hotel in Uyo.
:
This Morning, we left Francines Palace Hotel in Uyo, AkwaIbom State Capital to Nto Ndang, Obot Akara LG in the State. I forgot my Gold Earrings in the Bedroom I slept overnight.
:
When we arrived the Village where we were to commission and hand over the Boreholes, I realised I wasn’t wearing Earrings but I remembered where I kept them when I took them off last night. I quickly called the Hotel and the Front Desk Staff told me he would send a Staff to the Room to check.
:
Bassey found my Earrings and handed them over promptly. When I went back after the Ceremony yo pick up my Earrings, he was so happy to see me again. I can’t forget how he asked me this Morning as I checked out if I enjoyed my Stay and if I’d recommend their Hotel to others.
:
What if Bassey found my Earrings and said he didn’t? What could I have done? I’m rushing to catch a Plane to Bayelsa anyway. I don’t live in Uyo and I may not return here for a while.
You see why Bassey’s Action is Significant.
It’s little big things like this that matter.
:
We talked a bit about him and I’ll be supporting Bassey going forward.
:
Bassey is the kind of Young Nigerian that keeps my Hope up in this Country.
:
A Bright Spot in what has been a Super Tiring Month.
