I have to confess that I was really concerned about going to Maiduguri yesterday. Only few days ago, 35 people had been kidnapped in Jakana, the Road we ply often from Maiduguri in Borno to Damaturu in Yobe State so we were weary but but we soldiered on. We still travelled on that Road in May 2020.

It’s 3days to Christmas and we’re in Maiduguri to support Children like Salamatu (pictured with her hands up after we both washed our Hands) who’ve missed School Sessions for several months, whose academic activities have been truncated by the COVID-19 Pandemic, whose promotions have been stalled and many won’t resume in their next classes anytime soon.

The VSF COVID-19 Task Force is donating WASH Facilities to 54 Public Secondary schools in 18 states across all 6 Geo-Political Zones of Nigeria to help Students, Teachers, Non-Teaching in neighbouring Communities observe Strict COVID-19 Protocols. This is our effort to support the prevention and containment of a possible wave of the Coronavirus Pandemic in High Density Population Environments Nationwide so we may be coming to a School in your State real soon.
