Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has thanked the Leadership and Officials of the Victims Support Fund for the impactful work they are doing in providing succour to vulnerable communities nationwide.

Governor Ikpeazu conveyed his appreciation when he received a delegation of the Fund led by the Chairperson of the COVID 19 Task Force of the Fund, Mrs.

The Abia State Chief Executive specifically thanked the Fund for identifying with entrepreneurs in Abia State by ordering the bulk of the Facemasks and PPEs they have distributed nationwide from Aba.
The Governor asked the delegation to convey his appreciation to the Chairman of the Fund, Gen. T.Y. Danjuma who in his words “has displayed uncommon humanity by ensuring care and support to people he has never met”.
Earlier in her speech, the leader of the delegation and Chairperson of the COVID 19 Task Force of the Victims Support Fund, Mrs. Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, thanked the Governor for receiving the team and conveyed the best regards of their Chairman, Gen. T.Y. Danjuma.
Mrs. Akerele-Ogunsiji informed the Governor that the COVID 19 Task Force of the Fund has undertaken intervention programmes in 31 States of Nigeria and for Abia State, it has provided Solar-Powered Boreholes in 3 Secondary Schools in the State as well as Facemasks, Hand Sanitizers and other essentials.
The Team Lead informed the Governor that apart from the intervention work the Fund has done in Abia State, over 500,000 Facemasks distributed by the Fund Nationwide were produced in Aba and applauded the Governor for his initiative in supporting local production of Facemasks which saved the Country from accute shortage.
The delegation later proceeded to Ndiakata Secondary School in Obingwa LGA, Community Secondary School Isingwu, Umuahia North LGA and Government Secondary School, Ozu Abam, Arochukwu LGA where the Fund provided Solar-powered Boreholes and donated COVID 19 essentials.
